Italy: land of fine wine, incredibly delicious food and intense beauty. These were my thoughts as we drove north out of Genoa, through Serralunga to the little town of Monforte d’Alba, in the heart of Barolo
Tasting in Italy is always a privilege but never more so than when spending a few warm days in Tuscany from where I have recently returned.
Tom spotted this on Bloomberg earlier this week. We haven’t tasted the wines, but it is such a brilliant story.

“The 1971 is a little wine, pleasant enough, but lacking concentration, richness, character, and length. It has been ready to drink for some time, and now seems to be losing its fruit.”
Further stops included various villages around Neusiedler See, a large marshy, fresh water lake. The eastern bank produces delicious succulent dessert wines
