Born and raised in the Pays de la Loire, I have developed a passion for wine (in moderation) thanks to my father and grandfather who passed their love on to me.
I used to spend all my summer holidays in the region of the Lot, not far from Cahors, at our summer family house. Foie Gras, Confit de Canard, Cabecou (a local goat cheese) and Cahors wines are fond memories of food and wine that I have, and are still deeply engraved in my mind. My grand father was from Alsace, so Gewurtzraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc were good friends of the table whenever I visited.
Later in life I got into catering school and started my career as a chef, then became interested in the bar and wine trade very quickly. I attended a bar and sommelier school for a year in Angers then arrived in London in 1996 to develop my skills. I became a bar/restaurant manager in various companies, until joining Goedhuis & Co early in 2011.
Besides my obvious passion for wine I am a keen cyclist, love sailing, a great fan of the seaside and the proud father of a little girl called Luna.
